Guest Sabbatical
This project aims to complement and boost the internal research groups - working in the most promising current research areas - with an invited group of world-leading experts.
The Balgrist Campus offers a unique group guest sabbatical in which a world-leading researcher and his team (one to three top employees) are invited to the Balgrist Campus in order to enable and accelerate scientific progress and international exchange at a professorial, Ph.D. or technical level.
Prof. Sam Ward, University of California, San Diego (2017-2018)
„I chose to spend time at the Balgrist Campus in Zurich because the intellectual environment, scientific and clinical resources, and ability to focus was better than anywhere else in the world. In addition to tangible research productivity during my visit, I was able to conceptualize and write pivotal grants that launched new, funded areas of research at my home institution. Perhaps most importantly, I benefitted from the wisdom of the Campus. In this way, my Visiting Professorship was likely the best professional decision I have made.”
